The fourth element, existing solely in the Chinese tradition is 木 (pronounced mu), which means “Wood,” as well as “Tree,” and quite possible, “Forest.”
It is the first element in the Chinese tradition, and so the saying goes: Wood feeds Fire; Fire begets Earth; Earth bears Metal; Metal carries Water; Water nourishes Wood.
Wood is represented on Wythe Ave by a variety of colours, textures and grains, from wood both dead and alive. Nothing too typical, naturally
