#49 The Elements V – Metal (金)

The fifth element also exists purely in the Chinese tradition – 金, often translated as “Metal,” though the ideogram is that for “gold” and it really translates better as “Ore,” or that which is found naturally in the earth.

On Wythe Ave, Metal is represented by two metals – iron and steel – in a variety of man-made infrastructures, and in shades of silver, grey, black and rust.
