Two creatures that are ever-present on Wythe Ave are the pigeon, and with the coming of Spring, the sparrow. Rain or shine, warm or frigid, there they are, pecking at food or roosting or basking or whatever it is pigeons / sparrows do on streets.
This post demonstrates very vividly that the street has a use and a value that is entirely independent from humans. Or to put it simply, how pigeons / sparrows see, use and experience the street is entirely different from how we see, use and experience the street.
Food for thought.
